Dorothy L. Moore

Dorothy L. Moore, 97, of formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Flat Rock River Lodge in Rushville.

She was born June 18, 1928, in Hancock Co. to Frank Polley and Stella (Short) Polley.

She attended Westland High School.

Dorothy was a member of Morristown Christian Church.  She loved to travel, most of all she enjoyed taking picture everywhere she went.

She married Walter R Moore on June 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1966.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (wife, Brenda) Moore; her grandchildren, Jodi (husband, Terry) Hansome, Amy (husband, Chris) Tucker, Kelly Moore, William (wife, Amber) Moore, Dawson Moore, April (husband, Ben) Higgins and Jennifer Moore; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her sons, Raymond Moore and Larry Moore; her sisters, Laura Morgan, Lucille Weaver, Lela Raikes, Annie Buckman, Juanita Nigh and Frances Macy; her brothers, Tommy Polley, Charles Polley and Perry Polley and her great-grandson, Christopher.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Liberty United Methodist Cemetery in Shelby Co.
