Donna M. Whitten, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Especially Kidz in Shelbyville.

She was born July 30, 1941, to Frank Whitten and Mary (Barnhart) Whitten in Shelbyville.

Survivors include brothers, Jake Whitten and Gilbert Whitten and wife, Irma, all of Shelbyville; and sisters, Margaret Keppel of Shelbyville and Betty Keppel of Flat Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Miss Whitten was a resident of Especially Kidz since 1975. She was an inspiration to all faculty and friends who visited the facility.

Once people had the pleasure of meeting her, they left with a lifelong bond.

Miss Whitten enjoyed family outings , car rides through the countryside and going out to dinner. She treasured her baby doll, LeRoy, and her family photo album, which she kept in her possession at all times.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home , with Pastor Ian Farnsley officiating.

Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Miss Whitten.
