Donald Lee Hammons, 68, of Rushville, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

He was born January 20, 1958, in Indianapolis, the son of Lester and Opal Hammons.

Donald was a skilled operator for Emerson (Copeland) for many years. He was a hard worker and took pride in his quality of work. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of Muskrats of Rush County. Donald had a love for the outdoors and greatly enjoyed his time out fishing. He also enjoyed racing and listening to music.

Donald is survived by his son, Donald Cutler; daughter, Misty Hammons, son, Jacob Hammons, daughter, Meriah Cutler, 8 grandchildren, and his brother, Mike (wife, Gale) Hammons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ryan Hammons, and his brother, David Hammons.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

A Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
