Denzil “Bud” Simmons

Denzil "Bud" Simmons, 74, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2024 at his residence.

He was born April 5, 1949 in Cox Mills West Virginia to Clay Simmons and Eva (Bush) Simmons.

Bud attended Tech High School in Indianapolis.

Bud was a grain miller and a part time race car driver.  He had a love for racing, especially drag racing.  He also enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns.  Bud was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He married Donna (Thornborrow) Simmons on October 9, 1971 and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2011.

Bud is survived by his son, Shai Simmons; his sister, Wilma Simmons; his significant other, Sharon VanMeter; his granddaughters, Shayna Simmons and Adrianna Whitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Shad Simmons and granddaughter, Ashlynn Simmons.

A Gathering of Friends will be Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11 a.m. to noon at Fairview Community Church, 1880 W. 900 N., Fountaintown, IN. 46130.

A Celebration of Life will follow at noon at the church with Pastor Dan Richwine officiating.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Bud's family.
