David "Skip" Sweet

December 4, 1963 — January 19, 2015

David "Skip" Sweet, 51, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 4, 1963, to A. Dale "Pushy" Sweet and Kathryn (Ross) Sweet-Hill in Shelbyville. He married Barbara (Higdon) Sweet on Dec. 21, 1990, and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother; son, Adam Sweet and wife, Rebecca, of Paoli; granddaughters, Serenity and Alvia Sweet; and sisters, Bonni Sweet of Texas and Janet Sweet of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Sweet was a self-employed business owner.

He always enjoyed working in his yard. He had a very creative mind and curious personality and always had to be tinkering with something.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home , with Pastor Frank Smith officiating.

Burial will be at East Brook Cemetery in Milroy.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Sweet.
