Craig Ronald Sethman, 46, of Shelbyville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Craig was born October 12, 1979, in Washington, PA, and came to Shelbyville with his family at a young age. He was baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1998 and continued his education at Ivy Tech Community College, where he earned his associate degree and journeyman electrician certification. Craig was employed through IBEW Local 481, putting his skills and training to work in a career he had worked hard to build.
Away from work, Craig enjoyed the simple things, especially settling in to watch football. He was a lifelong and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, faithfully cheering them on through every season.
More than anything, Craig was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. His unexpected passing leaves an emptiness in the lives of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
Craig is survived by his loving parents, Ronald M. and Peggy J. (Ray) Sethman of Shelbyville; sister, Denise M. (Eric) Bohnert of Lanesville; niece, Brooklynn Bohnert of Lanesville; nephew, Grayson Bohnert of Lanesville; aunts, Sandra (Robert) Motichak of Eighty Four, PA, and Jeanne L. Boback of Columbus; step-grandmother, Glenda Sethman of Millsboro, PA; and cousins, Diane Ordich of Pittsburgh, PA, Keith Boback (John-Michael Hendershot) of Columbus, Nicholas Motichak of Galloway, OH, and Christina Motichak of Erie, PA.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Lillian Sethman; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rhea Ray; and several uncles.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service in Shelbyville, with Rev. Gretchen Schneider officiating. Visitation will also be Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions in Craig’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 124 W. Broadway, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
