Constance "Connie" Lynn Thomas

Constance Lynn "Connie" (Goebel) Thomas, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Waldron Health & Rehab.

She was born February 11, 1938 in Beech Grove to Charles Goebel and Dorothy (Windhorst) Goebel Siead.

She attended school in Fortville, IN.

She was employed at Kroger for 31 years before retiring.

Connie had a love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed wildlife and feeding the birds and squirrels. Indiana sports were special to her especially the Colts and Pacers.  Connie also enjoyed watching NASCAR and her cooking shows. She loved to collect anything to do with pigs.

She married her first husband Gary Pettit in 1958 and he proceeded her in death in 1995. She then married Douglas W. Thomas on October 13, 1997 and he survives.

Connie is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Valentine, Miquel (husband, Mike) Kendall, Sally Andrews, Polly Lay, and several nieces and nephews, Jarin Noel, who Connie loved just like a grand-son.  She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and step-daughter, Heather Thomas.

Visitation will be Friday December 23, 2022  from  1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jose Rivera officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
