Christine Ong

Christine Ong, 34, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at her home. Born Aug. 1, 1974, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, she was the daughter of Hi Ong and Kimhoa Thi Doan. Survivors include her father of California; her mother of California; sisters, Helen Ong of Shelbyville, and Van Nguyen and Tuyen Ong, both of Vietnam; brothers, David Ong and Kenny Ong, both of Shelbyville; a sister-in-law, Suzane Pornuisethkul of Shelbyville; a brother-in-law, Anthony Hong of Shelbyville; and a nephew, Kenneth Ong of Shelbyville. Ms. Ong graduated from high school in Vietnam and attended East L.A. College for two years. She had been employed as a nail technician at Silky Nails for five years. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Burial will be in Vietnam. An online guest book may be signed at www.murphy-parks.com.
