Charlotte Mae (Thompson) Schaeffer

June 23, 1926 — August 23, 2012

Charlotte Mae Schaeffer, 86, of Brownsburg, a former Shelbyville resident, passed away at Brownsburg Meadows Nursing Home on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. She was born June 23, 1926, in Dayton, Ohio, to Carl and Mary Jane (Lipscomb) Thompson. She married Lewis Schaeffer on June 11, 1944, and he passed away April 23, 2003. Survivors include daughter, Virginia "Ginny" (husband, Scott) Armstrong; granddaughters, Thea (husband, David) Mausten and Courtney (husband, Andrew) Caplinger; grandson, Adam (wife, Beth) Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Reagan, Lucy and Paige; and sister, Barbara Mays of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband; father; mother; and two sisters. Mrs. Schaeffer was a very devoted member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was a true Christian witness to her neighborhood. She worked for J.G. DePrez for many years in the toy department. Charlotte moved to Brownsburg in 2005 to be closer to her daughter after Lewis passed away. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Harrison St. Services will be at noon Monday at the church with the Rev. Stephen Bohall officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville IN 46176.
