Charles Creekmore

Charles Creekmore, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at his residence.

He was born February 7, 1951 in Appalachia, VA to John Creekmore and Donna (Reed) Creekmore.

He married Aleana Marie (Baylor) Creekmore.  She preceded him in death on October 31, 2020.

Charles graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was a member of the American Legion Post 70.

Charles worked in maintenance for many years.  He also was very involved with the upkeep and painting of the flag poles for post offices and National Guard Armories across the United States.

He also enjoyed playing pool, and listening to music.  He loved to read books and tell stories.

Charles is survived by his sons, Marcus Creekmore, David Creekmore, and Brian Creekmore (fiancé, Danielle); his grandchildren, Braxton Creekmore and Brevan Creekmore; his brothers, Allen Creekmore, and Johnny Creekmore; his sister, Donna Mourning (husband Steve); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Sammy Creekmore.

A Celebration of Life for Charles and his late wife, Aleana will be on Monday December 12, 2022 from 3 P.M. until 4 P.M. with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations starting at 4 P.M. at the Murphy-Parks Funeral Services. 703 S. Harrison St. Shelbyville, IN.
