Charles L. Barrett, 74, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. He was born March 13, 1939, to Steven H. Barrett and Edith (Wood) Barrett in Columbus. He married Barbara Jean Griffith Dec. 10, 1960, and she preceded him in death April 15, 2004. Survivors include daughter, Terri (husband, Rob) Hauk of Shelbyville and granddaughters, Aliana Hauk and Morgan Hauk. Mr. Barrett was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a firefighter for the city of Columbus and Indiananpolis International Airport. Mr. Barrett loved fishing, painting crafts and birdhouses, gardening and playing cards, especially euchre. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
