Catherine E. Creed, 91, of Waldron, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Waldron Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 7, 1921, to George Swope and Catherine (Hirschauer) Swope in Shelbyville. She married Bernard Creed on July 16, 1955, and he preceded her in death in May 1995. Survivors include sons, James E. (wife, Jona) Wainscott of Greenwood, Phillip G. (wife, Darlene) Wainscott of Shelbyville and Michael B. (wife, Annette) Creed of Shelbyville; sister, Mary Rose Moorhead of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jamie Zeilinga, James E. Wainscott, Phillip David Wainscott and Mitchell Creed; and great-grandchildren, Melanie Zeilinga, Holly Zeilinga, Abigail Wainscott, Ashlynn Wainscott, Lainey Wainscott and Chloe Westra. Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Creed, and three brothers. Mrs. Creed was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 70 Auxiliary, 8 & 40 Women's Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church Organ Restoration or Leukemia Foundation in care of the funeral home. Funeral Directors Greg A.
