Carol Lynn Williamson, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at IU Methodist Hospital.
She was born December 27, 1958 in Carson City, NV to William Williamson and Mary (Perkins) Williamson.
Carol’s life was defined by her love for family especially her nieces and nephews, dedication to her profession, and appreciation for the simple joys of life. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering work ethic, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. A proud graduate of Morristown High School, Class of 1977, Carol valued education and lifelong learning. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in biology at Franklin College before completing her associate’s degree from Butler Univeristy. Following her education, Carol dedicated her career to helping others as a respiratory therapist at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Over an extraordinary 44-year career, she provided compassionate care to countless patients and families. Her commitment to her profession and those she served remained steadfast until her retirement in 2025. Outside of work, Carol found joy in preserving family memories through scrapbooking, relaxing with a good book, and preparing meals for those she loved. She especially enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, shopping adventures at Sam's Club, visits to the Indianapolis Zoo, outings to the Indiana State Fair, and spending time at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. These experiences became treasured memories that she shared with family and friends. A loyal fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her team. She also enjoyed watching QVC and discovering new products and ideas from the comfort of home.
She is survived by her mother, Mary; brother, Tom (wife, Crystal) Williamson; sisters, Dixie (husband, William) Denton and Gail (husband, Terry) Thompson; brothers, John Williamson and Alan (wife, Beth) Williamson; nieces and nephews, Amanda (husband, David) Lewis, Kristina (husband, Caleb) Osborne, Madelene (husband, Daniel) Denton-Sharrett, Joseph (wife, Patty) Williamson, David (wife, Bobbi) Williamson, Grant Williamson, Kelly Williamson and Thaddeaus Thompson; great-nieces and nephews, Ava Mae Sharrett, Maelee Faye Sharrett, Nora Rhae Sharrett, Buxton Denton Sharrett, Eloise Gail Sharrett, Seth Lee Willard, Izzy Jo Thompson, Tinsley Ann Osborne, Emery Jane Osborne, Brantley Thomas Osborne and Elizabeth Ann Williamson.
