Bobby Jean Hansen

Bobby Jean Hansen, 74, of Flat Rock died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Major Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1935, in Cuba, Mo., she was the daughter of Robert William and Edna (Basham) Stevens. She married John Hansen Sr., and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Hudson and Elaine Hansen, both of Flat Rock; son, John (wife, Jana) Hansen Jr. of Carmel; sisters, Emma Hansen of Shelbyville, Rose Mary Woods of Missouri, Cat Stevens of Tennessee and Connie Countie of Cumberland; brother, Michael Stevens; grandchildren, January, Ciara, Kelsey, Trace, Nikki, Savana, Skye and Gabriel; and stepgrandchildren, Eric and Brandi. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Hansen was a homemaker, the author of short stories and taught creative writing. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery, Waldron.
