Beverly Joan Mason, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Heritage House Convalescent Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1929, to Walter R. Coers and Martha (VanSyoc) Coers in Rushville. Survivors include daughter, Alisa Gadbury of Hope, sons, Steve Brandon and Terry Carew of Nashville, and son Tim Carew of Shelbyville; grandchildren David Carew, Kimberly Carew, Jacklyn Carew, Alyssa Brandon, Matthew Brandon, Ross Stewart, Jennifer Carew and Haley Moy; and 1 great-grandchild. Survivors also include a sister, Cheryl Diehl, of Indianapolis and a brother, Steve VanSyoc of Edinburgh. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents. Beverly was a member of the Marietta Methodist Church. She had worked at a bartender. She was an avid Texas Hold 'Em poker player, enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, horseback riding and camping. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., with the Rev. Donald G. Bradley officiating. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelbyville.
