Betty Jones

Betty M. Jones, 74, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, in Indianapolis. Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Claude Surber and Juanita Price. She married Robert J. Jones, and he survives. Other survivors include sons, Douglas (wife, Mary) Jones, Donald (wife, Penny) Jones and Raymond D. Jones, all of Shelbyville, Robert E. Jones of Greenfield and William (wife, Neta) Jones of Kentucky; daughters, Roberta (husband, Douglas) Morford of Greenfield and Sarah (husband, John) Helfer and Charlotte (husband, Joey) Keller, both of Shelbyville; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a good friend, Tina Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, three sisters; and a brother. Mrs. Jones had been employed by Shelbyville Pioneer Sports. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
