Barbara L. Thompson

Barbara L. Thompson, 78, of Waldron died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Waldron Health & Rehab in Waldron. Born Oct. 28, 1931, in Marion County, she was the daughter of Rex and Hazel (Willey) Voris. She married Norman Thompson, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Higdon and Patti Sturgis, both of St. Paul, and Christy Nasby of New Palestine; sons, Steve Crafton of Shelbyville and Garry Crafton of Indianapolis; brother, Leon Voris of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Norris; one brother; and two sisters. Mrs. Thompson retired from Wellman Corp. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
