Barbara E. (Marlow) Baker

Barbara E. Baker, 81, of Waldron, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center in Waldron. Born Jan. 17, 1930, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Earl and Mabel (Johnson) Marlow. She married Mervin L. Baker on Jan. 24, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2004. Survivors include daughter, Jane (husband, Allen) McCain of St. Paul; daughter-in-law, Jill Baker of Chicago, Ill.; granddaughters, Leigh (husband, Jeff) Larrison, Lyndsay (husband, Kevin) Gettinger, Carrie Baker and Cheri Baker; great-grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Macy, Caraline, Audrey and Elliott; nephew, Larry Melcom; brother, William Marlow of Greensburg; and sister, Sue Smith of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Duane Baker; three brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of West Street United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Perry Richards officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Street United Methodist Church, 629 S. West St., Shelbyville IN 46176.
