Arthur E. Thompson, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at his residence.

Born July 17, 1939, in Franklin, was the son of the late Albert Thompson and Ersley (Dearing) Thompson.

Arthur is survived by brother, Berry "Buck" Thompson; exwife, Nancy McDaniel; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Betty Slavey, Roy Alderson, Carol Shaefer, Earl Patton, Jim Meal, CindyCrawley and Donnie Gibbons.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He graduated from Rushville High School. He was self­employed as a truck driver for over 30 years. Arthur enjoyed rebuilding old automobiles, fishing and horseback riding.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Murphy­Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Thompson.
