Anna Mae Williams, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. She was born June 4, 1932, to Roosevelt Petties and Mattie (Moore) Petties in Lake County, Tenn. She married Alfred Williams on Oct. 4, 1967, and he preceded her in death Sept. 27, 2006. Survivors include eight children, Burdette (wife, Sue) Richards of Columbus, Diana Carter of Shelbyville, Waymon (wife, Cyril) Carter of Dallas, Texas, Cynthia (husband, Elbert) Green of Fort Worth, Texas, Sylvia Darlene Carter of Fort Worth, Vanessa (husband, Jessie) Ward of Fort Worth, Laymon Carter of Dallas and Inez Tolliver of Shelbyville; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters, Lizzie Robinson, Selma Lyvers and Virgie Weakley. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Missionary Society and a deaconess at the Second Baptist Church. She was a gifted cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Second Baptist Church, 34 W. Hendricks St., Shelbyville, IN 46176. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the church with the Rev. Tony Lambert officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
