Anita Karen Sturgill, 66, of Shelbyville died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at her home. Born Sept. 16, 1942, in Jamestown, Ky., she was the daughter of Carl and Mary D. (Kean) Whittle. Survivors include her son, Alan (wife, Janie) Sturgill of Waldron; daughters, Rhonda (husband, Kurt) Wilson and Marianne Sturgill, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Judy Whittle and Sandra Whittle, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Don (wife, Betty) Whittle of Carrollton, Ga., and Jim (wife, Judy) Whittle of Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren; and her first great-grandchild, due to be born on Feb. 1. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lila Goodin. Ms. Sturgill had been employed with RCA for 27 years. She had attended Shelbyville Community Church. Ms. Sturgill's favorite pastime was gardening. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
