Allen Montgomery

Allen Montgomery, 64, of Shelbyville died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. Born Feb. 11, 1944, in Shelbyville, he was the son of James and Mary (Mann) Montgomery. Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Jo Schwartz of Milroy; son, Brian Montgomery of Shelbyville; sisters, Alice Humphrey and Anna Dake, both of Shelbyville; brothers, James Montgomery and Jack Montgomery, both of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Layton, Braydon and Hayli. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Montgomery and Charles Montgomery; and sister, Betty Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery had been employed at Spenax for 18 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. Mr. Montgomery was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and American Legion. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
