Maurice Lloyd ‘Maury’ Hasecuster, 88, of Greenwood passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his residence.
He was born October 14, 1931 in Shelbyville to Ora Verl Hasecuster and Grace (Walton) Hasecuster.
He married Donna (Laws) Hasecuster on June 25, 1954 and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2002. On April 21, 2006, he married Sue (Bartlett-Bush) Hasecuster, and she survives.
Maury is also survived by his daughters, Kay Robson of New Whiteland and Kathy (Wrede) Banta of Indianapolis; his son, Gary (Pam) Hausecuster of Franklin; his step-son, Kevin (Carrie) Bush of Flat Rock; his grandchildren, Rob, Kyle, Megan, and Caleb; his step-grandchildren, Mindy and Colleen; his brother, Fred Hausecuster and his sister, Pat Mitchell, both of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, 8 brothers, 3 sisters, and step-grandson, Trent Bush.
Maury worked in the Federal Aviation Administration for 35 ½ years. He retired in October 1986 as an air traffic controller.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air force and served in the Korean War.
He was a member of Remedy Christian Church in Acton. He was honored to be a member of the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He was a skilled wood working craftsman.
Maury stated that he “enjoyed life to the fullest extent and was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ”.
Visitation Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at the funeral home with Reverend Greg Edens officiating.
Burial will be in 2nd Mount Pleasant Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations. Masonic rites will also be conducted.
Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Hasecuster family.
