Barbara Jean Elliott, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at her residence.
She was born December 27, 1936 in Shelbyville to Clyde Stafford and Anna (Cornwell) Stafford.
On June 2, 1952, she married William Forrest Elliott, Jr. and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1998.
Barbara is survived by her son, James Elliott of Shelbyville; daughters, Diane Kay Nicholson of Shelbyville; Rose Marie Platte of St. Louis; and Sue Ann Brown of Brown Co.; son, Billy Elliott of Shelbyville; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Don Elliott and David Elliott; brothers, William Stafford, and George Stafford; her sisters, Ruth McDonald, Mary Coffey and Dora Harding, and 1 grandson.
She was employed at Admiral Corporation for many years.
Barbara was a member of Hope’s Point Church. She enjoyed camping, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Edwin Mohr officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
