Garnett W. "Kep" Keplinger, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Maysville, W.Va., he was the son of Jeff L. and Evelyn (Clark) Keplinger. He married Harriet DeVault on April 3, 1944, and she preceded him in death in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Harry Jay (wife, Joyce) Keplinger of Petersburg; grandchildren, Wendy (husband, Hanse) Cromer of Ohio and Rod Keplinger of Shelbyville; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Cromer and Michael Cromer, both of Ohio, and Hannah Keplinger and Caleb Keplinger, both of Shelbyville.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Keplinger was a U.S. Army veteran, and his occupation was as a plumber.
He was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge and the Indiana Street Rod Association.
A private family service will be held Monday, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
