Michael Dwain Aldridge, 64, of Edinburgh, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Shelbyville to William Henry Aldridge and Katherine (Walton) Schacht. He married JoAnn Kimbler on May 1, 1966, and she survives in Edinburgh.
Other survivors include son, Michael (wife, Marsha) Aldridge Jr. of Paris, Tenn.; daughters, Kimberly Ann (husband, Clint) Huntsman of Cadiz, Ky., and Angela Michelle (husband, Michael) Woosley of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Cody and Emily Huntsman, Joey Cary, Adam Bell and Meagan Parker; great-grandchildren, Liam Averett, Miles Carey, Gillian Melton and Cassidy Melton; sister, Katy (husband, Allen) Raisor of Shelbyville; nephews, Devin Raisor and Damon Gaskins; niece, Shannon Raisor; great-nephew, Waylon Gaskins and Brody Raisor; great-niece, Kori Jo Raisor; and step-brother, William Schacht.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the father who raised him, William Schacht; and a brother, Charlie Schacht.
Mr. Aldridge was a truck driver for Keller Transport and retired from Macy Trucking.
He was a member of Town & Country Christian Church, Johnson County Antique Power Association and served as president of Blue River Lions Club and Blue River Valley Antique Power Association.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Town & Country Christian Church, 2133 S. Tucker Road in Shelbyville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the church with the Rev. Donald Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Michael Dwain Aldridge Memorial Fund, Blue River Lions Club or American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
